Regnology, a leading RegTech software provider specialising in regulatory reporting solutions for financial institutions, has announced the acquisition of Wolters Kluwer’s Finance, Risk & Regulatory Reporting (FRR) business unit, a division of Wolters Kluwer known for delivering financial compliance, risk management, and reporting tools to firms worldwide.
The acquisition forms part of Regnology’s strategic objective to scale regulatory intelligence delivery. By combining its existing regulatory platform with FRR’s complementary tools and expertise, Regnology aims to provide more comprehensive solutions to its global client base. While the financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, the move is expected to enhance Regnology’s market presence and strengthen cross-border compliance capabilities.
Regnology offers cloud-first solutions tailored for financial institutions navigating complex regulatory environments. The company supports institutions in meeting requirements related to Basel IV, data granularity, and jurisdiction-specific standards through its unified data platform and advanced analytics capabilities.
Wolters Kluwer’s FRR unit brings deep domain knowledge in financial, risk, and regulatory reporting. The business supports institutions in maintaining compliance and managing operational risk, particularly in markets requiring jurisdiction-specific frameworks and high levels of data transparency.
The agreement marks a major expansion for Regnology, enhancing its existing infrastructure with FRR’s technology stack and team expertise. Clients of both companies are expected to benefit from a modernised, scalable platform that supports both legacy and cloud-native environments.
The deal, backed by Nordic Capital, is expected to close in the coming months, pending regulatory approval and standard closing conditions. Regnology’s commitment to unifying fragmented compliance workflows is further reinforced through this acquisition, bringing long-term benefits for financial institutions worldwide.
Regnology CEO Rob Mackay said, “FRR brings additional expertise and reach that will enhance our ability to serve clients globally. We look forward to supporting clients with a unified platform that helps them modernize their infrastructure, navigate Basel IV, and prepare for the future of regulatory reporting.”
Wolters Kluwer Financial & Corporate Compliance CEO Lisa Nelson said, “We are proud of the accomplishments of our Finance, Risk, and Regulatory Reporting teams. Regnology is strategically aligned to build on FRR’s strengths, and we are confident that they are joining an organization that is well-positioned to continue serving customers with excellence while opening new growth opportunities for employees.”
Nordic Capital Advisors partner Fredrik Näslund commented, “This agreement reflects Regnology’s continued momentum and innovation in the regulatory technology space. It positions the company to deliver even greater value to financial institutions worldwide. Nordic Capital is truly excited about Regnology’s continued journey.”
