Zurich launches Agentic AI Hyper Challenge initiative

Zurich, a global insurer operating in over 200 countries, has completed the first phase of its Agentic AI Hyper Challenge, part of the Zurich Innovation Championship.

The initiative brought together over 1,000 participants across 40+ countries who developed more than 200 prototypes in just four weeks, according to FF News.

These prototypes explored AI-driven innovations in underwriting, claims, marketing, and financial reporting.

Forty teams will advance to the next round, with finalists to be announced in September. Zurich aims to co-create scalable AI solutions that enhance decision-making and customer experience.

Zurich head of digital R&D Antony Elliott said, “We’ve seen incredible engagement – from our global business units to our external partners. This initiative is a powerful example of how we can quickly get hands on with emerging technologies to strengthen our capabilities and better serve our customers.”

Zurich group head of innovation Joel Agard added, “These results are a strong foundation. They demonstrate the potential of Agentic AI to reshape insurance processes through practical co-creation – while keeping the positive impact for our customers and our business at the center throughout.”
