Agentic security firm Prime Security bags $20m Series A

Prime Security, a product security company building autonomous AI tools for software development teams, has raised new capital to support its expansion and accelerate development of its technology.

The company, which is behind what it calls the first Agentic Security Architect, is positioning itself at the forefront of a fast-changing security landscape shaped by AI-enabled development.

The business has secured $20m in Series A financing. The round was led by Scale Venture Partners, with participation from Foundation Capital, Flybridge Ventures and Ofir Ehrlich, who is the CEO and founder of Eon. The investment marks an important milestone for the company as it looks to address rising demand for solutions that can automate design-stage security across complex engineering environments.

Prime Security’s platform focuses on automating traditionally manual security processes. Its suite of autonomous agents monitors and guides product security throughout the entire development lifecycle, enabling teams to match machine-speed development with machine-speed protection. The company argues that current manual security workflows cannot keep pace with modern engineering practices, particularly as AI-assisted coding accelerates output and increases the pressure on overstretched security teams.

The new funding will be used to expand Prime’s go-to-market efforts and accelerate development of its Agentic Product Security Platform. This includes strengthening the capabilities of its autonomous agents, which aim to deliver continuous reviews, reduce manual work by more than half and provide near-total coverage of planned development tasks. The company said the platform transforms design-stage protection into an intelligent, automated process that scales alongside engineering teams.

Additional details shared by the company highlighted growing commercial traction. After beginning to commercialise its product earlier this year, Prime Security won the Black Hat 2025 Startup Spotlight and has already signed dozens of customers, including PayPal, Qualtrics, Bumble, ThoughtSpot and Redis Labs. Early customers with engineering teams of more than 200 developers report faster resolution of design risks, full assessment coverage compared with a 10–15% manual benchmark, and a 50% reduction in the time and cost spent on security reviews.

Scale Venture Partners partner Ariel Tseitlin said, “Integrating security into the design phase has always been a technically challenging manual process. Prime’s unique approach transforms this critical, time-consuming stage. This team are both visionaries and operators. Having led technical, GTM, and security teams at companies like PayPal and Own, and scaled enterprise Product Security programs, they’ve experienced firsthand the problem they’re solving. This combination of category-creation vision and deep operational expertise is what defines market leaders.”

Prime Security co-founder and CEO Michael Nov said, “Modern product development is changing in front of our eyes. We founded Prime to redefine how security fits into this new world, with agentic systems that operate starting at the design phase, not after development. Our mission is to build security that scales with engineering instead of slowing it down.”

PayPal CISO Shaun Khalfan said, “At PayPal, we know that security must evolve as fast as the threat landscape. Prime Security’s autonomous, design-stage reviews give us continuous and adaptive visibility across our engineering ecosystem, enabling us to identify and address risks earlier in the software development lifecycle. This capability helps us move with speed and confidence to deliver for our customers and strengthen trust in our business globally.”
