BeZero Carbon, a global carbon ratings agency, has launched a new interactive tool designed to assess the risk profile of unrated carbon projects.
Known as the Pre-rating Scorecard, the platform enables users to leverage BeZero’s established methodologies to generate real-time assessments of potential climate impact.
Since its introduction in 2022, the BeZero Carbon Rating has become a trusted benchmark for evaluating carbon project quality. This new Scorecard marks a significant evolution in the market, offering the first dynamic interface for project risk assessment that does not require a formal rating. It allows users to adjust various project parameters and instantly view changes in indicative risk scores, helping users understand which factors most influence project risk.
Accessible through BeZero’s platform—BeZero Carbon Markets—the Scorecard is tailored to serve a wide range of stakeholders, including project developers, investors, advisors and corporate carbon credit buyers. It provides consistent insights across multiple project types and geographies, supporting decision-making before or after credits are issued.
Unlike BeZero’s independent rating service, which is carried out by in-house experts and used to guide pricing and investment strategies, the Pre-rating Scorecard is a customer-facing tool designed for exploratory analysis. It fills a growing demand for flexible, data-rich tools that help market participants navigate the increasing complexity of carbon credit evaluation.
