Kayna partners with Willis and Markel to launch equine insurance on EMR

Kayna, an embedded insurance infrastructure platform, has partnered with Willis, a global insurance broker, to deliver a new online insurance offering through Equine MediRecord (EMR).

The partnership embeds equine mortality insurance into the EMR platform, giving stud farms, horse owners and other participants in the multi-billion-euro equine industry access to tailored cover, according to FF News.

By combining Kayna’s low-code infrastructure with Willis’s specialist broking expertise and Markel’s A-rated underwriting capabilities, the partners seek to provide seamless, data-led cover to EMR’s UK client base, with scope for expansion globally.

The initiative also enables EMR customers to engage directly with indicative quotes, pre-filled applications and policy generation.

Policyholders will have access to documents, certificates of insurance, renewal dates and claims status within the EMR system. In addition, EMR administrators will gain full oversight of activities through a dedicated portal.

Paul Prendergast, CEO and Kayna co-founder, said, “I am delighted with the success of this full-service vSaaS insurance activation. By embedding equine mortality insurance, Equine MediRecord is continuing to champion world-class digital transformation, putting client needs front and centre. Our Kayna infrastructure is doing its job leveraging unique EMR client data and enabling tailored insurance backed by the equine sector specialists at Markel and Willis.
