MSIG USA has entered into a strategic collaboration with Coalition, the self-described world’s first Active Insurance provider, to deliver a new cyber insurance solution for its US clients.
The programme, set to begin binding businesses in August 2025, will provide primary cyber coverage for multinational companies that purchase insurance from MSIG USA internationally and operate in the US. It combines MSIG USA’s financial strength and disciplined oversight with Coalition’s technology-driven risk management services.
Through the initiative, MSIG USA’s brokerage partners will be able to offer clients access to Coalition’s real-time risk monitoring, AI-powered threat detection, and incident response tools.
MSIG head of the Cyber Center of Excellence Siobhan O’Brien said, “This collaboration builds on MSIG USA’s disciplined underwriting, financial strength, and global reach to deliver a smarter, more responsive approach to cyber risk for its multinational clients.”
Sarah Thompson, head of cyber for MSIG USA, added, “By integrating Coalition’s advanced analytics and monitoring tools, this innovative model of tailored, tech-enabled cyber protection will evolve with our international clients’ needs. Together, MSIG USA and Coalition will offer cyber coverage that not only provides coverage for cyber incidents but helps clients mitigate cyber risk before losses can occur.”
This collaboration is an extension of the existing global relationship between Coalition and MS&AD Insurance Group, which owns MSIG USA. Their ongoing partnership includes a $30m equity investment from Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd. in Coalition, a multi-year capacity agreement in Australia, and joint cyber risk management offerings in Japan targeting small and midsize businesses.
