Sensible Weather has launched its first High Winds Weather Guarantee, designed to protect travellers and outdoor enthusiasts from weather disruptions ahead of the Labor Day weekend and the 2025-26 ski season.
The new service provides automatic reimbursements when strong winds affect covered activities, with no claims process or paperwork required. Using trusted windspeed data, payouts are triggered instantly if wind speeds cross a pre-set threshold. This guarantee joins Sensible Weather’s existing cover for rain, snow, sleet, and extreme heat.
Sensible Weather CEO Nick Cavanaugh said, “With wind now added to our suite of products, we’re eliminating another major stressor for travelers and businesses.
“By delivering scalable, adaptable solutions, we’re not just responding to change, we’re shaping a more resilient and sustainable future for travel and recreation in a rapidly evolving climate.”
Already being trialled at golf resorts and ski destinations, the High Winds Guarantee aims to protect bookings and improve customer experiences when bad weather interrupts planned activities.
Sensible Weather, founded in 2019, has sold over 1m Weather Guarantees through 8,000+ partners and is backed by the National Science Foundation, Infinity Ventures, Amex Ventures, and the PGA of America.
