Antom Launches Agentic Payment Solution, Partners With Visa and Mastercard on AI Pilots

Antom, the merchant payment and digitisation services provider under Ant International, has announced the launch of an agentic payment solution designed to enable AI agents to complete transactions on behalf of users. The new solution includes support for both alternative payment methods (APMs) and traditional card payments.

As part of the launch, Antom also revealed it is among the first partners to work with Mastercard and Visa in the Asia Pacific region to pilot card-based transaction capabilities for AI agents.

The company’s agentic payment solution aims to address the need for AI agents to handle payments reliably as they become more integrated into commercial settings. The system is designed to process payments based on dialogue-based interactions, covering both confirmed purchase requests and conditional, pre-authorised transactions, such as purchases within a predefined spending limit or for scheduled sales. Antom has made the underlying Model Context Protocol (MCP) open-source on GitHub.

New checkout model for alternative payment methods

A key component of the new solution is Antom EasySafePay, a checkout process developed for APMs. According to Antom, this feature lets users link digital wallets directly to a checkout page without being redirected to external applications, a design better suited for agent-initiated payment flows.

For security, the solution incorporates Multi-Party Computation (MPC)-based AI risk management and mobile device security systems to identify and block fraudulent transactions, aiming to reduce risks like phishing and account takeovers.

Antom says its framework manages payment assets through cryptographic measures and builds an authorisation model for each transaction. This model also links key transaction parameters with intent evidence to create verifiable credentials, enabling end-to-end traceability and assisting in dispute resolution.

Card network collaboration for AI commerce

In addition to APM support, Antom is working with major card networks to develop card-based agentic payments. The company is partnering with Mastercard via its Mastercard Agent Pay solution and with Visa via Visa Intelligent Commerce to explore tokenised card payments for AI agents. These pilots will focus on using tokenisation, authentication, and transaction control tools to facilitate secure agent-based commerce.

Gary Liu, general manager of Antom at Ant International, said: “Agentic payment is a foundational step in allowing AI agents to generate real value in our everyday life. The rise of agentic payment calls for rethinking how payment systems are designed. We look forward to co-building the protocols and frameworks with partners across the financial, tech and commerce sectors to ensure agentic payments are smooth and reliable.”

Antom also revealed that the launch reflects Ant International’s broader AI strategy to support developers, financial institutions and merchants in adopting AI-driven commerce.
