Etraveli Group Rebrands Precision as Standalone Travel Fintech Arm

Etraveli Group has formally rebranded Precision, previously known primarily as an internal risk management solution, as the group’s dedicated travel fintech division. The repositioning, announced on 6 October 2026, broadens Precision’s scope beyond fraud controls and gives it a commercial identity as a standalone B2B fintech provider serving airlines, online travel agencies and global travel businesses.

The refreshed Precision launches with two named products. Precision Fraud Prevention uses machine learning models trained on travel-specific transaction data to help clients approve a higher proportion of legitimate bookings while containing fraud losses. Precision Travel Flexibility is a decisioning layer that allows travel companies to offer contextual cancellation and change options, adjusting eligibility and pricing at the individual booking level to lift attachment rates and protect margin. Etraveli says both products are designed around the structural realities of the travel sector, notably thin margins, high cancellation volumes and significant exposure to card-not-present fraud.

Peny Rizou, chief fintech officer of Etraveli Group and head of Precision, framed the move as an external commercialisation of capabilities developed over two decades of internal use. “Over two decades, we have honed these capabilities internally. By evolving Precision into a specialised fintech arm, we are giving airlines, OTAs and travel partners access to travel-native intelligence that turns challenges like fraud and cancellation risks into scalable, profit-generating strategies.”

Precision already has named distribution relationships with Outpayce by Amadeus, Mastercard Gateway, Sabre and Checkout.com, which collectively represent substantial coverage of the global flight booking and payments infrastructure. Etraveli did not disclose revenue attributable to Precision, nor the split between internal group usage and third-party client contracts.

Market context

The travel payments and fraud-prevention segment has attracted growing fintech interest as airlines and OTAs look to recover margin lost to high chargeback rates and the operational cost of flexible ticketing rules introduced widely during the pandemic period. Several specialist vendors, including Forter, Signifyd and Riskified, already compete in the transaction-level fraud decisioning space across verticals. Precision’s stated differentiation is domain specificity: models trained solely on travel data rather than cross-vertical datasets, which the company argues improves approval accuracy for the irregular purchase patterns typical of flight bookings.

The Travel Flexibility product places Etraveli in a narrower but expanding category. With regulators in the EU and UK maintaining or tightening consumer rights around flight disruption, airlines face commercial pressure to package flexibility as an upsell rather than absorb it as a liability. A decisioning layer that prices and distributes those options dynamically carries revenue-share potential that fraud tooling alone does not.

Competitive positioning

Etraveli’s structural advantage is captive transaction volume. The group processes flight bookings for Booking.com, Google Flights, Skyscanner and Kayak, and operates its own consumer OTA brands including Gotogate and Mytrip. That proprietary data estate underpins the machine learning claims in a way a pure-play vendor without comparable volume cannot easily replicate. However, the durability of that advantage depends on whether Precision can demonstrate model lift over general-purpose fraud tools to external clients who already have incumbent vendor relationships.

Etraveli is backed by CVC Capital Partners and KKR. It employs more than 3,200 people across 11 offices and serves over 48 million travellers annually in more than 75 markets. The group did not indicate whether Precision is being positioned for a separate capital raise or eventual spin-out, nor whether the repositioning is accompanied by any change in headcount or cost structure within the division.
