Financial Solutions Adds AI and Compliance Checks to Wealth Pilot

Financial Solutions has launched an upgraded version of Wealth Pilot, its adviser workspace platform, bringing automated compliance file checks and an AI assistant onto a single client record. The Exeter-based IFA network said the update, released on 12 October 2026, is designed to eliminate the data re-keying and siloed systems that advisers commonly encounter when using separate compliance and AI tools.

Wealth Pilot was first introduced in January 2025 as a client onboarding and servicing portal built on Microsoft‘s Power Platform. The latest iteration consolidates fact finds, risk profiles, financial plans, cashflow data and client documents into one unified record, with compliance and AI tooling operating directly on that record rather than on exported copies.

Two features sit at the centre of the upgrade. The first, Case Checks, applies a rule-based compliance review to every advice file before sign-off, rather than sampling a subset. Files receive Green, Amber or Red ratings, each accompanied by the underlying evidence and a list of required remediation steps. Where the system cannot confirm a finding, it defaults to Amber for manual review. Reports are produced in Word and Excel format and include references to the relevant FCA Handbook provisions.

The second addition, Adviser Intelligence, is an AI assistant that answers case-level queries using the firm’s own records and the adviser’s role permissions. It surfaces direct links to the FCA Handbook, flags data inconsistencies in real time and drafts suitability reports in the firm’s own template. Crucially, all AI-generated content requires adviser approval before it reaches the client record or any client-facing output.

Leanne Williams, managing director of Financial Solutions, framed the design philosophy around auditability. “An AI tool that cannot show its working is not much use to a compliance officer,” she said. “Every Case Checks rating comes from a written rule, every finding comes with its evidence, and if the system is not sure, a person looks at it.”

Data control is a deliberate commercial and compliance choice. Financial Solutions hosts the platform within its own Microsoft environment, meaning client data is not used to train AI models and the firm retains direct control over fields, forms and dashboards without depending on a third-party vendor’s release schedule. Access is governed by Microsoft sign-in and role-based permissions, with a full audit trail ensuring each member firm on the network sees only its own clients.

Market context and regulatory read-across

The product sits squarely in the expanding market for compliance-adjacent regtech tooling aimed at wealth management intermediaries. The FCA’s Consumer Duty rules, which came into full force in July 2023 for new business and July 2024 for closed books, have raised the evidentiary standard advisers must meet when demonstrating suitability and client understanding. Vulnerability assessment and outcome monitoring, both featured in Wealth Pilot’s workflow, are areas where the regulator has signalled continued supervisory attention.

The broader competitive landscape for adviser technology includes established platform providers, compliance software vendors and a growing number of AI-native tools targeting the suitability report and file-review workflow. Financial Solutions’ differentiation claim rests on vertical integration: by owning the data model rather than connecting to third-party systems via API, it argues that compliance tooling and AI can operate with greater accuracy and auditability than bolt-on solutions. Whether that closed-architecture approach proves an advantage or a constraint as the AI layer matures will depend heavily on how quickly the firm can iterate on the underlying model.
