It has been a busy couple of weeks for bank payment company GoCardless, as it has announced a new service launch and completed a new acquisition too.
Looking to make it easy to send as well as collect money, GoCardless has announced that it has acquired Sentenial Ltd, operating under the Nuapay Brand from EML Payments Limited. In addition to this, GoCardless has also launched GoCardless for Salesforce on Salesforce AppExchange, the marketplace for partner apps and experts.
Initially announcing the launch of GoCardless for Salesforce, the new offering will enable customers to tap into its full product suite including Instant Bank Pay, its open banking-powered payment feature and Direct Debit, automating the collection of one-off and recurring payments in over 30 countries.
Switching to account-to-account payments with the bank payment firm means Salesforce customers will save time and money by automating their payment processes.
Commenting on the news, Seb Hempstead, VP of partnerships at GoCardless said: “We’re proud to launch GoCardless for Salesforce, the first integration for account-to-account payments available on the Salesforce AppExchange. We’re making it easier for AppExchange users to collect one-off and recurring payments. Our integration not only provides more visibility and control over how AppExchange users get paid, but also makes the process faster and easier for end payers.”
Scaling GoCardless’ indirect channel proposition
Following this, the bank payment company announced the completed acquisition of Nuapay. The deal was originally announced in March, and was set to significantly scale GoCardless’ indirect channel proposition and fast-track the rollout of new capabilities.
Introducing these capabilities will be the first product priority for GoCardless. It will allow the fintech to unlock new vertical sectors and use cases in areas including:
payroll
financial services
utilities
insurance
gaming
gambling
Paul Stoddart, president at GoCardless, said: “Nuapay adds breadth and depth to our offering, positioning GoCardless as a full-service bank payment provider. The ability to both send and collect money via our platform, plus products that help merchants improve payment success and reduce fraud, will make GoCardless more competitive in our existing markets and help us enter new ones. This will ultimately accelerate the delivery of our strategy.”
Brian Hanrahan, CEO of Nuapay, said: “We’re excited to join GoCardless, a company with an amazing track record and great growth prospects. GoCardless has been making huge strides towards its vision of becoming the world’s bank payment network and given the rapid developments in account-to-account payments, it’s a great time to come onboard and contribute to the journey.”
