Gr4vy, the US-based cloud payment orchestration platform, has entered a partnership with Unlimit, the global financial infrastructure company, to extend the range of locally preferred payment methods available to Gr4vy’s enterprise merchant customers. The arrangement was announced on 8 October 2026 and takes effect through Gr4vy’s existing single integration layer.
The commercial logic is straightforward: enterprise merchants expanding internationally face a fragmented payment landscape in which consumer preferences, currencies and processing requirements vary sharply by market. Building a dedicated technical integration for each new market is costly and time-consuming. The partnership allows Gr4vy customers to access Unlimit’s acquiring and local payment network without modifying their existing stack.
The payment methods in scope

The range of methods brought into scope through the deal is broad. In Latin America, merchants gain access to Pix and PicPay in Brazil, OXXO and Efectivo for cash-based markets in Mexico and elsewhere, and Mercado Pago’s wallet network. In Africa, the integration covers M-Pesa, the dominant mobile money rail across Kenya and several other sub-Saharan markets, alongside Airtel Money. In Asia-Pacific, WeChat Pay, GrabPay and UPI are included, addressing China, South-East Asia and India respectively. In Europe, MB WAY for Portugal and SEPA Instant round out the offering.

John Lunn, founder and chief executive of Gr4vy, said the partnership gives customers “the flexibility to add the local payment methods they need as they expand internationally, without rebuilding their financial stack.” Irene Skrynova, chief executive of global payments at Unlimit, characterised payments as “fundamentally local,” citing customer preferences, currencies and processing requirements as sources of complexity for internationally expanding businesses.
Market context and competitive positioning
Payment orchestration has matured rapidly as a category. Platforms such as Gr4vy compete in a segment that now includes several well-funded European and US-based rivals, with the core proposition being a single integration that routes transactions across multiple payment service providers and methods. The competitive differentiator has increasingly shifted from the orchestration layer itself, which is becoming commoditised, to the depth and geographic spread of the underlying payment method coverage.
On that metric, the Unlimit partnership adds meaningful weight. Unlimit’s own network reportedly spans more than 180 countries and holds licences in 97 jurisdictions, making it one of the more geographically extensive independent payment networks available. The inclusion of Pix is particularly notable: Brazil’s central bank-operated instant payment scheme processed more than 60 billion transactions in 2024 and has become a prerequisite for any serious Latin America e-commerce play.
Regulatory read-across is relevant here too. UPI cross-border expansion is subject to agreements between the National Payments Corporation of India and host-country regulators, while SEPA Instant is entering a mandatory phase for eurozone payment service providers under the EU’s updated instant payments regulation, meaning demand from European-facing merchants is likely to grow regardless of competitive pressures. For Gr4vy, anchoring local-method access to a licensed counterparty such as Unlimit reduces the direct regulatory burden on the orchestration layer itself.
The partnership does not include disclosed commercial terms, transaction volume targets or named launch customers beyond those listed in Unlimit’s existing client roster, which includes Xiaomi, Telegram and Convera. The near-term test is whether the combined offering accelerates merchant onboarding into markets such as Brazil and India, where local payment method adoption has historically been the primary friction point for international entrants.
