MOTMX, a New York-based payments and loyalty technology company, has integrated Fireblocks infrastructure into its GetC product to give financial institutions the option of offering self-custody wallets alongside crypto cashback rewards. The partnership extends the distribution of Dynamic, the Fireblocks-owned wallet provider, into the US community banking and credit union segment.
GetC is a white-label, SaaS-based rewards product designed to sit on top of existing card and payments systems without requiring changes to core banking infrastructure. Under the model, a bank or credit union’s cardholders earn cryptocurrency, including stablecoins, automatically on card spend, converting what would otherwise be a conventional cashback reward into a micro-investment in digital assets. The product is currently available to select US banks, credit unions and card issuers through a limited pilot programme, with the company saying institutions can go live within 30 days.
The self-custody angle

The addition of self-custody wallets via Fireblocks is the most structurally significant element of the announcement. Standard crypto rewards programmes typically hold digital assets in an omnibus or custodial arrangement operated by the programme provider, meaning the end customer does not hold private keys. Self-custody wallets change that relationship: the customer controls the asset directly, which reduces counterparty risk but also shifts responsibility for key management and recovery. For a retail banking audience, this is a meaningful design choice rather than a technical footnote.
Nihad Nazir, chief executive of MOTMX, described the Fireblocks integration as “a fast, low-risk and revenue-generating entry point into on-chain financial services” and said GetC helps financial institutions attract younger customers and differentiate card products that have become largely commoditised on price and points.
Fireblocks is an established player in institutional digital asset infrastructure, with the company citing more than $14 trillion in secured transactions across 150-plus blockchains. Its client list includes Worldpay, BNY, Galaxy and Revolut. The Dynamic wallet product, acquired by Fireblocks, has been positioned as a developer-facing tool for embedding wallet functionality into consumer products, so its appearance here in a white-label banking context represents a distribution move into regulated depository institutions.
Market context and regulatory read-across
MOTMX is operating in a segment that is attracting growing commercial interest: the packaging of crypto rails into existing bank loyalty and card programmes. Several fintech infrastructure providers, including Bakkt and crypto-rewards specialist Fold, have pursued comparable approaches, though the community banking focus and the sub-30-day integration claim are positioned as differentiators for smaller institutions that cannot sustain long technology procurement cycles.
The regulatory environment in the US is shifting in ways that make the timing of this product relevant. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has clarified in recent guidance that nationally chartered banks may engage with cryptocurrency custody and settlement services, and congressional progress on stablecoin legislation has reduced some of the policy uncertainty that previously slowed institutional adoption. That said, crypto rewards products offered to retail consumers by regulated depositories will attract scrutiny from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and state regulators on questions of disclosure, asset classification and loss allocation, particularly where self-custody shifts responsibility to the consumer.
The pilot structure MOTMX has adopted, contained within select institutions before a broader rollout, is consistent with the incremental approach regulators have signalled they prefer over large-scale transformation. Whether the product moves beyond pilot to broad commercial availability will depend on how those early deployments perform on engagement metrics and on the absence of regulatory friction at the institution level.
