Shift4, an integrated payments and commerce technology provider, has launched its new ‘Pay with Crypto’ offering, enabling merchants worldwide to accept cryptocurrency seamlessly for both e-commerce and POS.
Shift4 merchants will be able to accept payments in a variety of cryptocurrencies from around the world, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, US Dollar Coin (USDC) and other major stablecoins.
The new feature will be rolled out in stages across the different Shift4 products and business verticals. All crypto payments will automatically be converted to US dollars and settled to the merchant.
Crypto payments have grown in popularity as the cryptocurrency market capitalisation reached $3trillion this year with over 500 million users globally. As the crypto market has grown, so have the requests from merchants and customers to pay with crypto. TAO Group and Blade will become some of the first customers to use the new capability.

To build its new product, Shift4 combined its expertise in global payments with the expertise of Mesh, the modern connectivity layer for crypto, which will provide secure account linking to help users connect to their exchange or wallet accounts to improve conversion rates.

Simplifying crypto payments for merchants also aligns with Shift4’s aims, as it looks to solve complex payment problems not being addressed by legacy players.
