News & Views Podcast | Episode 157: Money20/20 EU, Fintech Fringe & Fintech Week London

On this week’s episode of News & Views, The Fintech Times Podcast team speak about their recent attendance at Money20/20 Europe, Fintech Fringe and Fintech Week London.

The News & Views Podcast team returns having had a jam-packed couple of weeks with multiple events. The trio reflect on their recent experiences at events, sharing their highlights and favourite panels.

Money20/20 Europe was the first event attended by Tom and Polly among others from The Fintech Times. A panel that stood out to Tom was one featuring former French President Francois Hollande and how the French fintech ecosystem has changed. Polly spotlighted a panel she took part in and spoke about the declining optimism and popularity of central bank digital currencies (CBDCS).

The next event was Fintech Fringe, attended by Francis and Tom. Unlike Money20/20 which aimed to unite everyone from the fintech world to create discussions, Fintech Fringe was much smaller and more targeted. On day two of the event, Francis pointed out that one of his key takeaways was the role leaders have in ensuring a company is able to reach its goals. Tom also discussed some of his highlights from the event including how tech can alleviate traditional human error pain points.

The last event the team attended was Fintech Week London. They looked at the impact London is having on other tech hubs and how they are following suit. However, there were also panels on how other regions are paving their own way in the fintech world without relying on any other ecosystems for guidance.
